Privacy Policy
What PrepPilot sends for processing, what stays on your device, and how optional feedback is stored.
PrepPilot is built to help you practice interviews and improve applications without an account. This policy explains what happens to the text and files you submit.
What you submit
When you use a tool, you may paste job descriptions, type interview answers, or upload a resume file. That content is sent to our server so we can run the analysis and return your report.
AI processing
Your resume, job posting, and answers are sent to Ollama Cloud for processing. Your resume file is saved locally in this browser so you can reuse it across tools. Optional feedback you leave will be stored to improve PrepPilot.
We do not require sign-in. We do not sell your resume or job postings. Processing happens to generate the result you asked for in that session.
Local browser storage
PrepPilot may save your resume file and related form fields in this browser so you can reuse them across tools without re-uploading. That data stays on your device unless you clear site data or use a different browser.
Optional report email & export
After you finish a tool, you can optionally email yourself a scorecard or export Markdown/PDF. Those exports include scores, generic highlights, and next-step links only - never your resume file or full job description. Opening “email me this report” uses your device mail app; PrepPilot does not store the resume on the server for that flow.
Optional feedback
If you leave product feedback, we store the message and basic context (such as which page you were on) to improve PrepPilot. Feedback is optional and not required to use any tool.
Product usage counts
When you run a tool, PrepPilot records that the tool ran, whether it succeeded or failed, and how long it took. Those counts are written to our server logs so we can see which tools are used. They do not include your resume, job description, interview answers, cookies, or a user identifier.
Analytics
PrepPilot uses privacy-friendly analytics (Traks) to understand which pages and tools are used and to fix broken flows. It is cookie-free, does not use advertising trackers, and does not send your resume, job postings, or interview answers. Analytics runs by default for everyone.
Separately, PrepPilot stores some preferences locally (such as your theme and saved resume) so the site works the way you expect.
